Ben Roethlisberger is known for his toughness, so Michael Vick’s latest update on Big Ben’s foot injury shouldn’t surprise anyone familiar with the Steelers. Roethlisberger is out of his walking boot, and “limping around” practice Vick told Chris Adamski of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Mike Vick on how Ben looked at practice today: “He looked like himself (but) still kind of limping around a little bit."

Fantasy owners who have Roethlisberger, or other Steelers such as WRs Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, who rely on him, should not get excited. The Steelers are off in Week 11, which means if he sits out this week’s tilt vs. the Browns, he will have a full two weeks to heal up. That alone makes it unwise for him to play hurt.
Steelers Playoff Hopes Dashed By Le'Veon Bell Injury
Whether Roethlisberger or Landry Jones starts under center doesn’t have much effect on Bryant either. The lanky big play threat is not a volume receiver, and Jones is capable of slinging the ball deep. Bryant’s damage usually comes on deep throws in which he’s one-on-one with a corner or safety, so those opportunities will present themselves regardless of the quarterback.
Brown’s owners should be most concerned, since his value is in his targets, which dissipate without Roethlisberger leading the way. Brown should remain productive, but his time without Roethlisberger looked nothing like 17-catch, 284-yard explosion last week vs. Oakland.
Steelers and 49ers Both Pass On Ray Rice For Mediocre Free Agents
DeAngelo Williams owners are unaffected by the news either way. Williams is a must-start against the Browns’ NFL-worst rushing defense. If Roethlisberger plays, he will see more open lanes to run through as Cleveland focuses on the pass. If not, it’s unlikely the Browns can limit him even if they stack the box.
