Nothing can stop Kristaps Porzingis...except the buzzer.

The No. 4-overall pick had his game-winning basket waved off by the officials on Wednesday. The open three -- arriving 0.1 seconds late -- would’ve pushed the Knicks above .500 for the second time this season.

Porzingis was forced to settle for his fourth double-double in his last six games instead, enough to heap high praise from a team legend.

“The game has changed now,’’ Patrick Ewing said, per New York Post. “Most of the big people — he’s a perimeter big. When I played, the bigs [at] 7-3, you’d be in the blocks. But he has a versatile game. His game is suited to how the NBA is right now.

“He’s doing a very good job. He’s not just shooting jump shots, he’s getting in there. He’s not just a finesse big man.’’

Ahead of schedule, Porzingis is already living up to the hype surrounding his selection. His production is on par with Ewing’s and even supercedes it in certain areas.

If he hopes to be remembered alongside him, he needs the one thing that escaped Ewing’s career: a ring.

Fortunately -- only 20 years into his existence -- Porzingis will have ample time to end New York’s championship drought. With his career off to a promising start, there’s every reason to believe in its inevitability.
