After suffering what appears to be a season-ending and possibly even career-threatening knee injury during last week's 49ers-Rams match up at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Reggie Bush is planning on suing the city of St. Louis for negligence because of the concrete path surrounding the field, CBS Sports reports.

Bush injured himself when he ran out of bounds on a play and continued running through the sideline and onto the concrete track that surrounds the field. Bush slipped on the wet concrete and injured his knee while slamming into the retaining wall.

The 49ers May Be Officially Done With Colin Kaepernick

Bush has hired high-profile attorney Shawn Holley and her KWIKA firm to go after the city of St. Louis, which owns and operates the stadium, for charges likely to include gross negligence because of the dangers that are posed to players because the concrete surface become slippery when wet.

Bush's injury was the second such concrete-fueled incident already this season. Brown quarterback Josh McCown injured his shoulder during his team's Week 7 match up against the Rams when he too ran out of bounds and lost control on the concrete track in the Edward Jones Dome before slamming into the retaining wall. McCown is expected to be back on the field next week against the Steelers.

Potential Landing Spots For Colin Kaepernick

The NFLPA has already spoken to the NFL about the safety concerns regarding the concrete track, especially in light of these two injuries this season. The Rams have reportedly made adjustments to increase the safety level, CBS Sports reports, but it may be too little too late for Bush, who, at 30 years old, is already in the twilight of his career. Another major injury for Bush may solidify concerns that his best days are behind him.
