The Browns were unable to beat the Bengals on Thursday night, falling 31-10 in Cincinnati. Unsurprisingly, Johnny Manziel was unable to look like a NFL-caliber QB.

Johnny Manziel's Lucky He Didn't Punch His Girlfriend On Tape

The former first-round pick finished 15-of-33 for 168 yards and a TD. He ran for an additional 31 yards on four carries, but failed to muster any offense in the second half. After a spirited opening two quarters, Manziel completed only 4-of-15 attempts for 40 yards.

The Browns as a unit only managed two first downs.

Rex Ryan Should Take A Chance On Johnny Manziel

Head coach Mike Pettine was non-committal with Manziel following the game.

"No, I can't [say he'll play the next game],'' he said, per Cleveland.com. "When we get in and get back from this time off, we'll assess what pool of players are available and go ahead and make those decisions from there."

Manziel tried to do it Pettine's way, now it's time he tried to do it the Johnny Football way. Embrace the spontaneity, the improvising, the drinking. Enjoy a brew or two before kickoff.

He can't look any worse than he did sober in the second half.

The one saving grace for Manziel was the lack of turnovers on Thursday.

He managed to protect the football against a stifling Bengals defense, but it won't be enough to protect his starting job.
