The artist formerly known as Ron Artest, Metta World Peace, whatever you want to call him, didn't take Lamar Odom's initial overdose well. Speaking with Vlad TV, the Lakers forward revealed the troubles he experienced when he heard the news.

James Harden Showing The Same Warning Signs Lamar Odom Did

"When I found out Lamar was in the hospital, you know, I was a little bit hurt," he said. "I was a lot hurt. Actually, I hated everybody.

"I mean, you got somebody you grew up with on their deathbed. I don't even know how else you could feel."

James Harden Doesn't Care About Lamar Odom

MWP's reaction is a natural one, especially when you consider his relationship with Odom. The two met at 11 years old in Queensbridge, New York. Playing together for years, their professional careers came full circle when they both featured for the Lakers from 2009-2011.

Like everyone else, Metta pushed Odom's demise to the Kardashian family.

"I was a little bitter towards the Kardashians without even knowing the situation," he added. "Because all I know is that my buddy, well, it was reports that my buddy wasn't going to make it."

Even that is an understandable reaction. Indirectly, the Kardashians have been blamed for Kanye West's lack of creativity, Ray J's career and James Harden's recent struggles.

Why not add Odom's overdose in a Las Vegas brothel to that list?

Tongue-in-cheek commentary aside, Metta's hateful reaction is a healthy one. At least this time he didn't punch a Pistons fan.
