Eagles fans are rejoicing today as in the midst of a rough first season for Sam Bradford, everybody learned that it could have been much, much worse.

According to WIP's Howard Eskin, Bradford turned down a four-year, $72 million offer from the Eagles. No matter how you spin it, that's a lot of money for a guy that's 30th in the NFL with 78.4 passer rating.

Bradford is also among the top turnover leaders with his 10 interceptions. On top of that, he is dead last in Total QBR sitting at a paltry 29.6. Those numbers are not only undeserving of a contract extension, most teams would also consider them grounds for benching.

While all this looks bad for Bradford, he's taking the strategy of denying the reports. According to CSN Philly, Bradford says he never even heard of the offer.

Don't Count On Peyton Manning To Turn Season Around

"That offer must have got lost in the mail," Bradford said Wednesday. "I never saw that one."

Whether or not Bradford hear about the offer, it's safe to say that the Eagles dodged a major bullet by this contract not getting signed. Can Bradford turn things around? Of course, but if the Eagles can save money in the process they will certainly take that opportunity.
