Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, undeniably one of the most controversial figures in all of sports, will be in the spotlight again with the September 22nd, 3:30 p.m. premiere of a six-part documentary called Being: Mike Tyson on his post-boxing life on Fox.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the documentary will show how Tyson has tried to rebuild his life following a slew of problems that include time in prison, bankruptcy, the loss of a young daughter and drugs and alcohol abuse. The show will debut on September 22 at 3:30 pm ET.

The first episode delves into how Tyson looks at his "Iron Mike" persona. According to Tyson, "Iron Mike" is someone detached from himself. "Iron Mike Tyson is a God. I look at him different than I look at myself," Tyson says. He reveals that Iron Mike was aggressive, powerful and dominant while Mike was confused and struggling for acceptance.

"People have to realize that Iron Mike is just really dead," Tyson is quoted by Yahoo! as saying. "I'm just doing something else now. That's just what it is."

Interestingly, the series also features the relationship of Tyson with his former rival and now friend, Evander Holyfied. The two fighters will forever be linked not just because of their fierce rivalry, but because of the infamous 1997 fight in which Tyson bit Holyfield's ear out of frustration with Holyfield's defensive gameplan.

Tyson was living the life of a street thug in New York but was discovered for his once-in-a-lifetime punching power. With that power, Tyson became a one-man wrecking crew and eventually the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
