Keenan Allen of the Chargers may very well be out for the season after undergoing a procedure on his lacerated kidney, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweet.

Following Schefter's tweet, the news was confirmed by the team, as Allen was placed on injured reserve, thus ending his season. The injury has a recovery time of about six weeks.

Cardinals' Bruce Arians, John Brown Don't Care About Your Fantasy Team

Allen's 725 receiving yards are the third most in the NFL this season. He's also second in the league in receptions, with 67 catches through eight games.

The 23-year-old was on pace to shatter his previous career highs of 77 receptions and 1,046 yards. With his season is over, it will be a huge blow to the Chargers and fantasy owners alike.

Don't Count On Peyton Manning To Turn Season Around

For those in need of an Allen replacement, it may be wise to look elsewhere than the Chargers' roster. The next two options at wide receiver for the Chargers are Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson, who are less than stellar fantasy options.

Those fantasy owners that are really hoping to strike gold on the Chargers couldl also look to tight end Ladarius Green, who has seen some success this season. With Allen down, Green and Antonio Gates will more than likely be first in line to replace his production.
