Jay Cutler has been hit in the head one too many times.

With the trading deadline looming, the Bears QB addressed the rumors surrounding Matt Forte. Forte -- set to hit free agency in 2016 -- has been linked with a departure from Soldier Field, much to the chagrin of Cutler.

Little Interest In Trading For Matt Forte

"I wouldn't trade him for anybody else," Cutler said of Forte, per the team's official website. "He's a three-down back. He does so much protection-wise. He does so much in the passing game. You can line him up in all different scenarios, all different sets. He gets the job done.

“He's kind of a security blanket for us."

Tim Tebow The Perfect Backup For The Bears

Really, Cutler? There’s not another RB worthy of the Chicago backfield?

It’s not as if there aren’t two RBs -- Adrian Peterson and Devonta Freeman -- who are out-gaining and out-scoring Forte in 2015.

Admittedly, Cutler’s proclamation was nothing more than public relations move to solidify the locker room. It even served as a moment of actual leadership from a QB who’s disappeared in big moments during his career.

But given his career productivity and game-changing ability, it’s laughable to presume Peterson wouldn’t serve as an upgrade in any backfield in the NFL.
