Steve Nash may have retired with the Lakers, but the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player's best years came with the Suns, where he spent 10 NBA seasons.

Without question, Nash is destined to be feted and recognized with various awards and the Suns have done just that.

As mentioned back in August, Nash was formally inducted into the Suns Ring of Honor at halftime of the match pitting the Suns and the Trail Blazers.

Nash retired last Mar. 21 and becomes the 14th player inducted into the elite circle. He joins an elite cast which includes the likes of Charles Barkley, Tom Chambers, Walter Davis, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle and Paul Westphal.

Nash was the 15th overall pick of the Suns when he entered the NBA in 1996. He wasn’t immediately embraced by Phoenix at that time with most questioning his selection due to him having not played in major college conferences.

The Canadian playmaker made his mark with the Mavericks in 1998 and was eventually taken back by the Suns in 2004. After proving himself worthy to wear a Phoenix uniform, Nash shut down his detractors as well by winning that year’s MVP award, edging out Shaquille O’ Neal and becoming only the third point guard to win the MVP plum.

As a Sun, Nash is the holder of the franchise’s record in assists with 6,997, three-point percentage (43.5%), three-pointers (1,051) and free throw percentage (90.7%).

Nash is credited to helping up the Lakers guards, particularly Jordan Clarkson. He is now hooked up with the Warriors as a part-time player development consultant.
