Unlike Lucas Matthysse, WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford was not distracted by the thought of potentially landing a fight with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in 2016.

Crawford won via an impressive 10th round TKO over Dierry Jean which wasn’t really much of a surprise considering the Briton was a heavy favorite going into the match.

So now, Crawford has held his part of the bargain and Top Rank promoter and Bob Arum may want to move and see if that fight can happen.

But of course, Crawford is just one of the candidates for Pacquiao’s farewell match for 2016.

Another fight that the Pacquiao camp will be watching is the one between Timothy Bradley Jr., as he puts his WBO welterweight title against Brandon Rios on Nov. 7 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

A final verdict on who Pacquiao officially faces will likely be known after that. The date of Pacquiao’s final fight has already been set for April 9, 2016. It will be Pacquiao’s last fight before venturing out into the world of politics.

"I'm ready. I'm gonna let my handlers, (co-managers) Cameron Dunkin and Brian McIntyre, talk to Bob Arum and Team Pacquiao, and let's see if we can make it happen," says Crawford.

Aside from Bradley, there is also Amir Khan waiting in the wings. Matthysse, who was originally believed to be stricken off the list, is surprisingly in consideration, though all that could change especially with Crawford’s performance.
