Nike's new Michael Jordan store in Chicago is now open. The store, which is located at 32 South State St., opened its doors at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Serious sneaker collectors camped out in front of the store at 32 South State Street all week. There was a line outside the store late Friday as people from as far away as Las Vegas and Baltimore were drawn by the former Chicago Bulls star's mystique.

The new store will sell merchandise with the trademarked "Jumpman" silhouette, not the Nike swoosh, including basketball, training, sportswear, and kids' products. The brand manager said the store will also have items chosen "specifically by Michael," according to the Associated Press.

On Thursday, Jordan tweeted a video sneak peek of the store, which brings together retail and basketball. The first floor features retail and art designed by local artists. The upper level has a gym and basketball court, though that area is open only to invited guests.

Chicago is the first, but Nike also plans to build stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

The Washington Times reported that executives also said Jordan Brand will begin making shoes specifically for women. Currently, women's goods on the brand's website are mostly bags, hats, visors, headbands, scarves, and socks.
