It’s no longer a Cinderella story for Argentina. Eight years after their first World Cup semifinal, the Argentines return to the final four, except this time with a team capable of winning it.
Standing in the way, Australia.
The Aussies narrowly escaped with a 35-34 victory over Scotland in the quarterfinals, but have history on their side Sunday. In 24 previous matchups, Australia has defeated Argentina 18 times (18-5-1).
A date with New Zealand awaits the victor. The All Blacks defeated South Africa in the other semifinal Saturday afternoon.
