As was expected, Dez Bryant was downgraded to out for the Cowboys’ clash with the Giants on Sunday, per NFL.com. Bryant -- who’s still recovering from a broken foot that required surgery in Week 1 -- didn’t travel with the team on Friday.
Dez Bryant Wouldn't Have Saved The Cowboys Anyway
He was rumored to join the Cowboys in New York on Saturday, but that didn’t turn out to be the case.
As David Moore of the Dallas Morning News unnecessarily pointed out, Dallas’ decision was health related, not monkey related.

Sources: There is no truth to rumor that Dez Bryant failed to accompany team to New York to spend more time with pet monkey, Dallas.

Dez Bryant has reportedly been cleared for the Giants game but will not play because he cannot take his monkey with him.

Dez Bryant did not make the trip to NY yesterday. Team say he was spending time with his pet monkey instead..

Any word on his monkey's availability? RT @AdamSchefter No surprise but Cowboys WR Dez Bryant officially out Sunday.
— GrandPaD (@_GrandPaD) October 24, 2015
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Bryant’s monkey is unavailable for Sunday’s game.
Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden will have to make due under center until Tono Romo returns from injury (clavicle).
