After coming over from the Stars, DeMarco Murray hasn't exactly been the stud back the Eagles were hoping for so far this season. With 70 carries through five games for 242 yards and three touchdowns, Murray was off to a slow start with Chip Kelly's offense, but things may finally be turning around.

After a pair of 100-yard, one-touchdown games, Murray looks like he's finally gotten past the hamstring injury that slowed him down at the start of the season, and he's ready to kick his game into high gear for this week's matchup against the 5-0 Panthers.

Fans Think Eagles Should Have Held Onto Tebow To Avoid Rough Season Start

"I finally feel like myself," Murray said Thursday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Everyone is starting to settle down and get their legs underneath them."

Carolina's run defense has been solid so far this year, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry, but Murray is confident he'll be able to punch through the Panthers defense that's being led by linkebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis, two defensive backs whom Murray considers some of the best in the league.

Chip Kelly Talks Potential Return To College Coaching

"Luke is one of the best linebackers in the NFL . . . and his partner in crime, Thomas, has been great for a long time," Murray said. "We'll have our hands full, but we're excited about the challenge."

And for Kelly and his Eagles, this change in direction couldn't come soon enough. Philadelphia made a number of big personel moves in the offseason, including Murray's 5-year, $42 million contract. And though Murray has been one of the premier backs in the league over the past several years, his output has been lacking, which hasn't helped the Eagles as they've so far produced a mediocre 3-3 start. But if Murray can get back to full form, the Eagle may soon be flying high.
