At 38 years of age, Tom Brady has obviously accomplished a lot in the NFL. And at some point, players at that age will eventually call it quits more or less because younger players will make it hard for them to stay competitive.
Hearing about players wanting to play beyond the expected life span an athlete can is nothing new. However, there is that angle wherein a team would consider everything -- including how the team is faring. And while the Patriots continue to shine, Brady and even coach Bill Belichick will at some point move on.
Cam Newton Should Be Fined For Every Interception He Throws
“There’s a lot that goes into playing well. I’ve played with a lot of great teammates. But I want to play for a long time, maybe 10 more years. I think that’s probably what my goal is” says Brady via Yahoo Sports.
For now and despite his age, it seems that Brady doesn’t have that in mind. In fact he sees himself playing until his 48, which in all doesn’t seem realistic especially in the NFL.
Brady's First Interception Of The Season May Spell The End of His Bromance With Edelman
Brady has done it all in his career. He has a long list of achievement, highlighted by being a four time Super Bowl Champion. He is also a three-time Super Bowl MVP so what else is there to prove?
Some people may want to see Brady to play on but all that hinges on how long his body can take it. With the rough NFL plays, he is bound to fall to the injury bug at some point and such may be something he didn’t consider.
Then again, one has to give Brady for his passion for the game. He could be playing for more season but the real question is on whether such is feasible for him to do so, not to mention how much more his body can take.
