Rex Ryan has a gambling problem. That's the only way to explain his confidence ahead of the Bills' clash with the Jaguars this Sunday.

"I am definitely irritated," Ryan said when asked if his defense has ever come under this much scrutiny before, per NFL.com. "But I think when I was at Morehead State years ago, that one writer there..."

Rex Ryan Should Take A Chance On Johnny Manziel

Cleary biting his tongue, he opted to move on, adding: "Quite honestly, I make fun of it because I know where we're going to end up. Guys, I'd be willing to bet anybody."

We're willing to take that bet, so long as the Bills end up is the same place they've ended since 1999 -- home in January.

Rex Ryan Can't Keep Tom Brady's Name Out Of His Mouth

Despite being 3-3, Buffalo's journey for its first-ever playoff berth in the non-Doug Flutie era is already in jeopardy. The Jaguars, Dolphins, Chiefs, Texans and Redskins remain on the schedule -- simple enough to push the team to eight wins -- but what remains leaves Ryan and company in murky waters.

The Jets (twice), Patriots, Eagles and a potentially healthy Cowboys team are yet to cross paths with Buffalo. Even the Dolphins under interim coach Dan Campbell pose a threat.

No one -- outside of a degenerate gambler -- would be willing to take that bet. Especially with Tyrod Taylor already showing signs of frailty.

Then again, this is Rex Ryan we're talking about -- the man who delivered umpteen "guaranteed Super Bowls" to the Jets instead of actual ones.
