Things To Know

--Playing in his first postseason, deGrom is 2-0 thus far and has allowed just two runs in 13 innings. Hendricks is coming in after giving up three runs on solo homers in 4.2 innings against the Cardinals in NLDS Game 2. DeGrom defeated Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw in his two NLDS starts, though he was 0-2 with a 6.12 ERA against the Cubs this season.

--Daniel Murphy is on a tear for the Mets, having set a club record by homering in four straight postseason games and five overall heading into the game. The second baseman has taken Clayton Kershaw (twice), Zack Greinke, Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta deep this postseason.

--The Cubs hope that a return home will bring their offense to life. Chicago hit nine homers in two games in the NLDS at Wrigley Field against the Cardinals and with young power-hitters in the lineup, returning to the Friendly Confines could do the trick. Also on the Cubs side, the Mets haven't won at Wrigley Field since May 19, 2013.
