Lamar Miller had his fantasy owners jumping for joy last week during his 113-yard performance that also featured a touchdown, his first of the season. New coach Dan Campbell emphasized Miller this week, handing him the rock 19 times, six more carries than Miller had in Week 1, which was his season-high.

Miller was a sleeper pick to elevate himself into the elite group of RBs this year, since it looked like there was almost no competition for him. Instead, Miami has been overly reliant on Ryan Tannehill to carry the offense, which has been a mess. Last week, the Dolphins dominated the Titans, with Miller at the forefront. This shouldn’t surprise anyone who paid attention last year.

In 2014 Miller found the end zone eight times, and three of them came in games where he received at least 18 carries. Miller didn’t see 20 carries in any game in 2014, but when he was given at least 15 carries, Miller averaged 95 yards. In games when Miller received 14 or fewer carries, he never even eclipsed 78 yards.

During Miami’s bye week, Campbell reportedly sat down with Miller and explained that he wanted him to be “decisive,” and told him if he produced, more work would surely follow. Miller responded.

"As a running back you have to get into a groove. You have to get into a rhythm. You have to get the feel for the defense. Today I was just taking advantage of the opportunities I got," Miller said. "We're just trying to showcase what type of team we can be."

Miami’s next three games are against teams ranked 20th or worse against the run, making Miller a definite buy-low candidate.
