Either you’re daughter is going to college, or you’re going to the NLCS, but you can’t have both.

Not with these ticket prices.

Baseball Purists Don't Want To See The Mets In The NLCS

The Mets are in the NLCS for the first time since 2006. Not to be outdone, the Cubs are in the NLCS for the first time since 2003 (#WheresBartman). Secondary markets are using this opportunity to take advantage of desperate fans.

The average ticket price for Games 3, 4 and 5 in Chicago average a ridiculous $1,357.85, per TiqIQ (h/t Fox Sports). The average price of the 2012 NLCS games in San Francisco were nearly half ($687.15).

The Cubs Take Superstition To Another Dumb Level

Then again, the Giants win the World Series as often as the season’s change. The desperation to see them live in a meaningful game loses its luster when they win it every other year.

The Cubs haven’t won a World Series since 1908, long enough to force some sap to forgo a mortgage payment in October.

At least $1,357.85 will get you a seat in Wrigley Field. New Yorkers will have to cough up $310 to stand for seven hours, per StubHub.

At least a cozy seat behind home plate is a mere $3,000.

Then again, you'd pay that much to watch Henry Rowengartner win the NL pennant.
