NFL Daily Fantasy Strategy 2015: Saints vs. Falcons Top 3 Bargains And Busts

When the Falcons kick off tonight’s Thursday Night Football tilt vs. the Saints, millions of fantasy sports enthusiasts will have entered daily fantasy pools using players in the game. Before setting those lineups, those folks should be aware of some major bargains on FanDuel and DraftKings, as well as some high-priced potential busts that should be avoided.

Best TNF Bargains

C.J. Spiller, RB, Saints (FanDuel/$5,300, DraftKings/$3,800): Spiller has taken boom-or-bust to the extreme this season, but never forget the role of matchups in fantasy. The Falcons have one major hole in their defense so far this season, and that’s defending against running backs in the passing game. That is the sole reason for Spiller being brought to New Orleans, so he should feast.

These Are The Best Week 6 Bargains On DraftKings

Leonard Hankerson, WR, Falcons (FanDuel/$5,800, DraftKings/$4,200): Aside from a dud in Week 5, Hankerson has been a target-hound for Matt Ryan, and a successful one. This week he may be even more important, because Julio Jones is playing through a hamstring injury. Jones is not expected to be on a “pitch count,” but the severity of his injury is unknown to us.

Jones may be on the field as a dreaded decoy, the single-most frustrating new trend in football. If so, expect Hankerson to benefit the most, and at these prices, against the worst pass defense in the NFL, that’s major.

These FanDuel Bargains Will Have You In The Money In Week 6

Willie Snead, WR, Saints (FanDuel/$6,200/$3,300): Snead’s a better buy on DraftKings, but he’s the Saints No. 1 receiver right now. Brandin Cooks gets the love, and he finally scored last week, but Snead has seen six-plus targets each week and amassed 230 yards over the last two games. With Drew Brees hurt and unable to go deep very often, Snead’s intermediate routes are his go-to.

Biggest TNF Bust Potential

Julio Jones, WR Falcons (FanDuel/$9,200, DraftKings/$9,200): Jones has the potential to make this seem absolutely ludicrous, because the Saints have the worst pass defense in the NFL. But Jones is not 100 percent, and he may be on the field simply to draw the attention of the defense, allowing Hankerson and Roddy White to work more freely.

Mark Ingram, RB, Saints (FanDuel/$7,800, DraftKings/$6,000): The Falcons, with the exception of Week 3 vs. Dallas, have been stingy vs. the run. In four out of five games, they’ve kept opponents to less than 100 yards rushing, and the Saints have Spiller to attack them in the air. Expect a quiet, touchdown-dependent night from Ingram.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Saints (FanDuel/$7,000, DraftKings/$5,700): Cooks had a big game last week, but the Falcons aren’t having it. They are No. 5 in the NFL vs. No. 1 wide receivers, and despite Cooks’ short stature, that’s exactly his role for the Saints.
