It’s not easy being Dirk Nowitzki. Not only did he play in an era dominated by another icon in his own state -- Tim Duncan -- but he’s failed to live up to the individual accolades of Charles Barkley.
Master P Think Kobe Bryant Could've Saved Lamar Odom
A better overall scorer than Barkley -- he ranks seventh on the all-time points list, while his counterpart ranks 24th -- Nowitzki fell short in every other statistical category, per Land of Basketball. Barkley holds the advantage in rebounds (11.7 to 7.9), assists (3.9 to 2.6) and steals per game (1.5 to 0.9).
He even has a better career FG percentage (.541 to .475).

Admittedly, Nowitzki does boast the one thing Barkley doesn’t -- an NBA ring -- but he benefited from playing in the LeBron James era, not the Michael Jordan era.
As if that wasn’t enough, the German international decided to take his shortcomings to another level.
For all his quirkiness, even Barkley could manage to hit a ball better than that.
It’s just another example of Nowitzki failing to live up to Barkley’s legacy. Next up, the TNT studios.
