UCLA Bruins two-way star Myles Jack suffered a season-ending knee injury last week, but rather than heal up and prepare for next year, Jack is leaving UCLA and has declared for the NFL Draft. Unsurprisingly, his coach Jim Mora thinks the decision isn’t the smartest.

"My personal opinion is he's a tremendous football player and a tremendous athlete," Mora said. "I think it's risky to do this. Having been on that side, there's going to be a lot of speculation as to what he is and where he fits. And as I told Myles on Sunday, NFL teams are very, very conservative, and if there's any question whatsoever, they'll pass on you in a heartbeat.”

Jack, however, is in a can’t-lose situation. According to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, Jack has a $5 million insurance policy on himself that kicks in if he’s not picked in the first round. So even though Mora’s not giving his player much public support, the only thing that suffers is his actual draft stock.

Jack was a jack-of-all-trades for UCLA, lining up at several linebacker positions, as well as safety, cornerback, and running back. In fact, he was so successful as a rusher, many believe he has a future at the next level on offense. Jack has rushed 68 times for 387 yards and 11 touchdowns. Jack has made it clear that he intends to be a linebacker in the NFL.

Jack has registered 178 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and a sack in his career. He has also recorded four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
