Reports indicate that the following was taped on Tuesday in Minneapolis, Minnesota for WWE SmackDown which will air this Friday Sept. 6 as the WWE builds towards the Night of Champions pay-per-view on Sept. 15.
Opening segment: Triple H appears in the ring and announces a town hall meeting for Superstars to voice their complaints. Triple H, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox are in the ring. Triple H discusses firing Cody Rhodes on RAW. The Shield stands guard around the ring. Triple H tells people to speak up and no one does until Damien Sandow says he supports the firing of Rhodes. Kofi Kingston says everyone is afraid and that's not what's best for business. Triple H yells at the wrestlers for their egos and asks why Daniel Bryan is absent from the meeting. Heath Slater, Ryback and Rob Van Dam all speak up and Triple H makes Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel and Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton for later in the night, while announcing that Bryan will take on a Shield member of his choosing.
Match #1: WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Rob Van Dam in a non-title match via an RKO. Alberto Del Rio was commentating at ringside and attacked RVD post-match. ADR may have hurt his arm, but it's uncertain.
Backstage segment: Daniel Bryan tells Renee Young that he was told by WWE officials not to attend the town hall meeting earlier, and tells the Shield that they can pick which member faces him in the main event.
Vignette: A Los Matadores video is shown.
Backstage segment: AJ Lee, Alicia Fox and Aksana talk to each other. Lee says she'd rather defend her Divas title against one of them than any of the girls on Total Divas.
Match #2: Ryback def. Dolph Ziggler w/ outside interference from Dean Ambrose. Ambrose was on color commentary when he attacked Ziggler, aiding Ryback to victory.
Match #3: Kofi Kingston def. Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel with Paul Heyman in a non-title match via the S.O.S. Axel, in his hometown, was cheered and given a nice welcome before the loss.
Backstage segment: Paul Heyman discusses CM Punk with Renee Young.
Match #4: Naomi and Brie Bella fight to a no-contest with Cameron, Eva Marie and Nikki Bella at ringside after AJ Lee and other divas interfere. A brawl between all of the divas ensues.
Match #5: Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro w/ Zeb Colter def. The Usos.
Match #6: The Big Show def. The Three-Man Band in a 3-on-1 handicap match when Big Show knocked out Heath Slater with the knock-out punch. Triple H forced Big Show into the handicap match.
Main Event, Match #7: Daniel Bryan def. Seth Rollins via a knee to the face. The Shield chose Rollins to face Bryan and interfered throughout the match. Post-match, Orton attacks Bryan and stands over his prone body while holding up the WWE championship as the show goes off the air.
WWE Night of Champions airs one week from this Sunday, and the card thus far looks like this:
