The aura of Jurgen Klopp is gone, but the aura of Der Klassiker remains. Borussia Dortmund travel to the Allianz Arena on Sunday to face Bayern Munich in the latest installment of Germany’s biggest rivalry.

Bayern Munich Win On The Pitch And At Oktoberfest

Rich with history, below are Der Klassiker’s most iconic moments.

Real Madrid Should Sell Karim Benzema, Buy Robert Lewandowski

The Miss of the Century

Anyone, literally anyone could’ve finished Frank Mill’s chance from the 1986 Der Klassiker. Well, anyone besides Frank Mill.

2012 German Cup Final

The 2012 German Cup final was the peak of Dortmund’s dominance over Bayern under then-manager Jurgen Klopp. The 5-2 victory was the club’s unprecedented fifth consecutive over Bayern and confirmed its first-ever domestic double.

It was also Borussia Dortmund’s last moment of true glory. They finished runners up in the league and German Cup in 2013 and 2014.

Arjen Robben's Miss

Entering Matchday 30 in 2012, Bayern Munich were still within reach of Dortmund in the table. The two took the pitch for a pivotal match on Apr. 7. Down 1-0, Arjen Robben had a chance to find an equalizer for Munich, keeping the club within reach in the title race.

He failed to, something Neven Subotic never let him live down.

2013 Champions League Final

For all their greatness in Germany, Bayern Munich failed to achieve it on the European stage. A loss to Chelsea in 2012 Champions League final only exacerbated the issue.

Much like the club, Robben had his chance at redemption one year later. Tied 1-1 with Dortmund, the Dutchman provided the most iconic moment in this rivalry’s history, besting Roman Weidenfeller in the 89th minute.
