The WWE returned to the Big Apple to kick-off the Brock Lesnar Hell Tour with WWE Live From Madison Square Garden Saturday night in New York City.
Looking Back At Our Predictions For MSG Show
"The Beast" looked dominant in his match with The Big Show, while John Cena and Seth Rollins closed out the proceedings inside a steel cage.
The night was a pretty up-and-down one for Vince McMahon's company, and here's a look at the best and worst of the event.
The Good
Silver Anniversary Is Jericho
Chris Jericho celebrated the 25th anniversary of his first match Saturday night and at the quarter century mark, he's still got it. "Y2J" battled Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship in what was one of the best bouts of the night and a successful defense for the heel champion.
Brock Lesnar Is A Freak
The WWE did a great job of making "The Beast" look human against The Big Show in the beginning of their clash by having the World's Largest Athlete inflict punishment, but in the end, Lesnar was unstoppable. He threw Show around the ring like he was a Cruiserweight and nailed a powerful and impressive F-5, to win the match. Maybe now Big Show will retire?
An Irishman & A Russian Walk Into A Ring
Rather than the two advertised singles matches, the WWE paired Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton against their respective rivals, Rusev and Sheamus in tag action. The babyfaces won, but after the bout, "The Bulgarian Brute" gave the "Celtic Warrior" a tongue lashing, only to get hit with the Brogue Kick. Not sure if it will turn either one face, but either way, Sheamus still looks stupid.
The Bad
Rage In A Cage
Seth Rollins and John Cena battled it out in a Steel Cage match for the U.S. title in the main event. The match itself was good, but Kane got involved in the end, because, of course he did. With Rollins about to escape, the Demon caused him to jump back into the cage. One AA later, and "The Architect" was toast. Kane then Tombstoned Rollins to end the show.
Divas Rocky Revolution
Once again, the Divas were lumped together as PCB battled Team Bella in a six-woman tag, but the WWE at least played up Paige's heel turn. Charlotte and Becky got sick of her antics and wouldn't tag in, leading to the victory for Team Bella. Making matters worse, there was no Sasha Banks tonight. What is that crap?
Tag Team Turmoil
The New Day's pre-match promo appeared to last longer than the actual batle with the Dudleys as the tag title contest was kept very short. Nothing wrong with a DQ finish and the feud will obviously continue, but the match could have been longer.
Quick Match Results:
--Randy Orton & Dolph Ziggler def. Rusev & Sheamus (Orton RKO on Sheamus).
--Neville def. Stardust via the Red Arrow.
--Team Bella def. Team PCB (Nikki Bella pinned Paige after her partners wouldn't tag in).
--Kevin Owens def. Chris Jericho via a rollup to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
--The Dudley Boyz def. The New Day via DQ with the Tag Team Championships on the line.
--Brock Lesnar def. Big Show via F-5.
--John Cena def. Seth Rollins via an AA to retain the U.S. Championship in a Steel Cage.
