For Brian Urlacher, going after Peyton Manning would be purely professional. Going after Jay Cutler sounds purely personal.

On the Dan Patrick Show, the host on Monday asked the retired Bears middle linebacker which quarterback he'd most like to hit if he were able to get one more shot, Larry Brown Sports reported.

"Any team," Urlacher responded. "Even if it was a team I play for?"

Patrick played along for Urlacher's sake, saying, "Yes, if you want to hit Cutler, go ahead."

"You said that, not me," Urlacher retorted.

Later, Patrick asked what positive spin first-year Bears coach John Fox could put on Chicago's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks in Week 3.

Urlacher said Fox could point to the defensive performance in the midst of a struggling offense with a backup quarterback.

"Not that it'd be any different if (Cutler) was in the game," Urlacher added.

Urlacher has gone from being one of Cutler's staunchest supporters, at least in Urlacher's opinion, to another harsh critic. Last year, Urlacher mentioned that Cutler was an elite quarterback -- but only in terms of salary.

"Financially, he is one of the elite guys in the NFL [...] he just hasn't produced like an elite quarterback," USA Today Sports' For The Win reported Urlacher as saying, based on a radio interview he did in 2014. "You look at the Bradys, the Mannings, the Rodgers, the Brees, those guys win every year, even with no one around them. Rodgers has no offensive line. He wins. Brady has no receivers. He wins."

For The Win also mentioned Urlacher's comment that Cutler did not reach out to the former All-Pro linebacker when he retired.

"Maybe we weren't as close as, like you said, as we could have been. That's just the way to let you know where you stand with people. But it's not his job to text me, maybe that's not his thing. That's fine. That's the way it is. I felt like I stood up for him more than anyone else did over the last three or four years in the media. I feel bad for the guy, he takes a lot of grief from the media, too."

Urlacher finally told Patrick that Manning, the Broncos QB, is the one he'd like to sack because he never got a chance during his career.
