Like Tim Tebow, Michael Sam continues to find ways to force you to care about him. The former SEC Defensive Player of the Year landed a new gig, working for his alma mater on Mizzou Network.

The decision comes one month after Sam announced his retirement from football on Twitter. He didn’t necessarily have a career to retire from -- being cut by the Rams and Cowboys in 2014 -- but he retired nonetheless.

3 NFL Teams That Should Give Tebow A Chance In 2015

Much like his 4.99-second 40 time at the combine, his first step into the announcing booth is a mediocre one.

Tebow couldn’t complete 50 percent of his passes -- finishing his flash-in-the-pan NFL career at 47.9 percent -- but even he managed to convince ESPN executives he belonged on TV. Clearly, Sam was incapable of doing the same.

With generic analysis like “you have to put pressure on him” and “it starts with the run game,” it’s easy to see why.
