It could be a distraction for Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins -- at least until he steps onto the field.

Robert Griffin III and Cousins are on non-speaking terms as Washington, suddenly an NFC East contender, continues to navigate through the 2015 season, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports.

Colin Kaepernick Could Be Headed Down Same Path As Robert Griffin III

"According to multiple sources within the Washington organization, there is a problem existing currently between Robert Griffin III and starting quarterback Kirk Cousins," Cole writes. "Simply put: they don't talk. They don't speak to each other, they don't communicate, they can't even be in the same room as each other because of the tension that exists between the two sides.

"The problem here for RGIII is this is a reflection on him. It's a continuation of a pattern where he simply doesn't get along with teammates," Cole continues. "He's had problems with offensive linemen in the past, he's had problems with coaching staffs in the past. In other words, he has isolated himself from the rest of the team. That, to many people within the Washington organization, is an indication of his lack of leadership ability and his ultimate inability to become the starting quarterback and hold that position."

Anonymous Redskins Teammate Says RGIII Would Be Good Fit In Philadelphia

Cousins has led the Redskins to a 1-1 mark while the overall No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL draft is making $6.7 million to sit on the bench, according to sportrac.com.

Another problem for Griffin is his scheduled $16.155 million due in 2016 if the Redskins, who have the option on his fifth year, decide to retain him. USA Today Sports' For the Win suggested that the Cowboys should try to work out a deal with the former Heisman Trophy winner, but he would be an odd fit for a Dallas offense used to working with injured starter Tony Romo's precision.

If the Eagles' Sam Bradford continues to struggle, RGIII might draw interest from Philly coach Chip Kelly.

Until then, it's going to be a quiet quarterback meeting room for the Redskins in 2015.
