What They're Saying

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on his record against Rex Ryan, per USA Today: "I think our record against him has been OK [9-4]. I'll take it."

Bills head coach Rex Ryan on his lack of success against the Patriots: "Well I dislike the fact that I haven't been that successful against them. No question. But I'll say this: I respect them, probably as much as any team in the league. But I don't fear 'em, I can tell you that much. We don't fear anybody. We're looking forward to them."

Performance To Examine

The Bills have always been one competent QB away from challenging for the playoffs in the AFC. An impenetrable defense and solid run game always lacked the support of an intelligent arm. Tyrod Taylor appears to be that answer in Buffalo.

In Week 1 against the Colts, Taylor was a calm 14-of-19 for 195 yards and one TD. The most important stat line read zero, as in zero INTs. Protecting the football will be paramount if the Bills hope to grab an early AFC East lead.
