The ending to the John Cena-Seth Rollins bout at SummerSlam was panned by many people, but perhaps no one was more passionate about it than the challenger's father, John Cena Sr.

Cena Sr. recently appeared on "Wrestling Talk" and discussed the bout with the hosts. His son put his United States Championship on the line against Rollins and his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Aug. 23.

3 Best Non-Title Matches In Night Of Champions History

The "Cenation" leader lost the match after former "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart interfered and hit him with a steel chair. The 15-time World Heavyweight Champion's father wasn't pleased with how it all went down.

"Horrible," Cena Sr. said. "Horrible, horrible, horrible. Why that ever happened, I have no idea. Of course I'll get kicked in the shin for this one, they would have been better off to use me to hit him with a chair."

Projecting All The Possible Outcomes For Seth Rollins At Night Of Champions

His comments begin at around the eight-minute mark in the video (embedded below) and Cena Sr. also said the storyline made no sense and that Stewart had no business in the ring.

"I would have rather seen him doing an interview, whacking Cena and injuring him so that Rollins could go over," Cena Sr. said. "It would have made a hell of a lot more sense to me. But then the explanation he gave the following night on RAW, 'I did it because I just couldn't see Ric Flair's record being broken,' and, if you listen to Flair, Flair is saying -- he really doesn't care.

"...And then if you looked at Flair's face when he was standing there, what was Flair's comment? 'You just ruined the whole thing. You screwed everything up, you just screwed everything up.' And the Attitude Adjustment [Stewart] received, well deserved. They should have just wrapped him up in a body bag and hauled him out."

Cena Sr. compared the angle to another much maligned moment from WCW when David Arquette won gold.

"I do believe there is a time and a place, it's almost like David Arquette winning the Heavyweight Championship," Cena Sr. said. "If you wanna bring up idiots in professional wrestling, there's a perfect example of bringing somebody in, giving them a championship. For what? For what? There was no rhyme or reason. It would have been better to see Kevin Owens. It would have been better to see Rusev, somebody that had a beef with Cena come in and cause the job, but they use Jon Stewart? ...They would have gotten longevity out of the act from anybody. And the second thing they would have gotten was another storyline. They've lost it."

Hopefully WWE creative has something better in store for Cena vs. Rollins at Night of Champions this Sunday, or else they might be hearing from the challenger's father.
