Jason Day continued his dominance of the PGA Tour, opening the first round of the BMW Championship with a 10-under 57. Inclement weather interfered -- approaching storms -- forcing the 27-year-old to hold serve after 17 holes.
His play will resume at 8:30 a.m. CT on Friday.
Not to be outdone -- though the leaderboard says otherwise -- Spieth managed a hole in one on the second tee. A 7-iron shot landed just off the edge of the par-3 green, kicked right and rolled directly toward the pin.
Like Day, Spieth’s round too ended after 17 holes. The two-time major champion is five strokes off the pace and tied for third.
Daniel Berger ended his round with sole possession of second, shooting a 6-under 65.
