The NFL wasn't the only one to let Ndamukong Suh get away scot-free. So, too, did Alfred Morris.

That's what former Redskins running back Clinton Portis said during his weekly segment on ESPN 980's The Drive With Cooley and Czabe, USA Today Sports' For the Win reported.

Dolphins Coach Joe Philbin Doesn't Deny Ndamukong Suh Knocking Alfred Morris' Helmet Off Was Dirty

After a tackle Suh made on Morris during the Redskins' season opener against the Dolphins, Suh got up and appeared to knock Morris' helmet off with his leg. Some called Suh's action a kick.

Suh is a great player that lacks toughness, said Portis, whom Morris replaced as Washington's starting running back in 2012. The retired Redskin said he would've retaliated by taking out Suh's knees before going for the throat.

"I just would love to be in that situation. Why didn't guys play that way when I was on the field? I wish a guy would have. I would have dove at the back of Suh's knees so quick and got up and just probably choked him out. I definitely wouldn't have let him get away with that. But again, Alfred Morris is a different guy than myself."

The NFL reviewed the play on Monday and determined that Suh did nothing wrong during the play.

Reporters after the game asked Suh about the incident, but he said he didn't know which play they were talking about because he had tackled Morris multiple times in the game.

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin acknowledged the NFL review of the play and said Suh was doing a great job since coming over from the Lions in the offseason. But Philbin stopped short of saying that he didn't believe Suh's actions were dirty or wrong.
