Russell Westbrook's adventures into the fashion world haven't impressed style expert Robert Verdi.
The "Brides Gone Styled" host appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" and had a cutting, yet honest take on the well-dressed Thunder star's clothing line, which features sheer (see-through) tops for men.

"A lot of interesting, cutting edge designers are doing very similar things," Verdi told the show. "So I don't see him as an originator, I see him as an imitator following the trend, picking up what other designer's have been doing and taking their DNA and trying to kind of create his own brand, using other people's ideas."
Westbrook took to Twitter to share the news of his collaboration with Public School New York and Barney's department store to sell the new fashion line.

Verdi said the marketing and advertising were an "interesting" way to approach the line and that it was obvious they wanted people to talk about it. Verdi also referenced a book, "Hijacking the Runway: How Celebrities Are Stealing the Spotlight from Fashion Designers" and said Westbrook's latest project is a "great example" of that notion.
It wasn't all bad, however, as Verdi did say that Westbrook hasn't made an enemy out of the fashion world.
"I think he is loved by the fashion industry," Verdi said. "Respected as a designer is another question. I don't think that people think of him as a designer, I think people think of him as a fashion enthusiast."
Verdi also said that a lot of pieces in his latest collection at Barney's were inspired by other designers.
Perhaps Westbrook should stick to the court, where the Thunder hosts the Spurs on Oct. 28 to open up the season.
