Tonight's top storyline will be the return of running back Adrian Peterson, who missed all but one game of 2014 because of child abuse charges. Peterson, however, is looking at second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater as the new focal point of Minnesota's offense.

"Teddy, I feel like he's the key," Peterson said. 'There's not too many guys that come into the league that have that talent, especially at the quarterback position. He's just so poised. He has a great arm. He's mature. And he's a competitor."

Bridgewater was the third quarterback taken in the 2014 Draft, behind Blake Bortles at No. 3 and Johnny Manziel at No. 21. Bridgewater started 12 games, throwing 14 touchdowns against 12 picks and compiling 2,919 yards.

Meanwhile the 49ers are playing their first game under new head coach Jim Tomsula, who has a completely new coaching staff. His defense is missing three starters from last season who retired -Patrick Willis, Chris Borland, and Justin Smith -and top pass rusher Aldon Smith, who was cut because of repeated off-the-field incidents. They are also missing right tackle Anthony Davis this year, who retired as well.

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin is still here, however, and he believes in the players they have in the locker room.

"The guys that we have in the locker room, I know what kind of guys we have in here. Those are guys that are going to bust their butt, try to do things the right way as much as possible. Nobody's perfect. We're going to try to go out and try for perfection each day."
