The "one-and-done" moniker in college basketball is not only useless, but it also prevents legends the likes of Moses Malone from being born.

The former NBA great died in his sleep in Norfolk, VA on Sunday. At 60, he leaves behind a legacy Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and LeBron James eventually followed. All aforementioned players were drafted out of high school, but where do they rank head-to-head?

5. Dwight Howard

Much like RGIII or Andrew Luck, "Dwight Howard or Emeka Okafor" was actually a thing before the 2004 NBA Draft. Many thought the Magic were taking a gamble when they selected Howard No. 1 overall. Over his 11 seasons thus far, the former Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy man is averaging 18.1 points, 12.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

4. Kevin Garnett

The Timberwolves were actually a playoff team at one point, and it was all thanks to Kevin Garnett. The 39-year-old has a laundry list of accolades including 15 All-Star selections, four All-NBA First Team selections and an MVP award (2004).

His most notable contribution, however, came in 2008 with the Celtics, winning his first and only NBA title.

3. Moses Malone

Many forget the path Malone paved in 1974. He was drafted out of Petersburg High School by the ABA Utah Stars. When the ABA and NBA merged, he would turn into a dominant center. Nicknamed "The Chairman of the Boards," Malone won three MVP awards, an NBA Championship, was named to the NBA Hall of Fame and is considered one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.

2. LeBron James

The chosen one.

While many would've crumbled under the pressure of being the most-hyped player since Michael Jordan, LeBron James responded with two NBA titles, four MVP awards and nine All-NBA First Team selections.

1. Kobe Bryant

Not much was expected from Kobe Bryant when he was selected by the Hornets in 1996. Subsequently traded to the Lakers, Bryant has the one thing all the aforementioned players on this list don't: five NBA titles.
