This is the 26th time Venus and Serena meet, and the 14th time in Grand Slam events. Only Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova have met more (22).
Familiarity will be key Tuesday night, something Serena readily admits.
"I'm playing the best player in the tournament," she said, per the New York Times. "She knows how to play, how to win. She knows all my weaknesses.
"Until 8:30 p.m., we'll be friends. When the match is over, we'll be friends again."
The winner of the first set when Venus and Serena have played has won 22 of their 26 meetings. Other top stats: https://t.co/TFYpyusQ7x

Serena, currently the No. 1 seed, is just three victories from completing tennis' first true Grand Slam since Steffi Graf in 1988. Romanticism aside, big-sister Venus is looking to reluctantly play the spoiler.
"I don't think anyone wants to be a spoiler," Venus said, per USA Today. "I think people love to see history being made. ... But at the same time, you're focused on winning your match even though the circumstances are really much different than you."
