Tom Brady and Donald Trump have both been polarizing figures in 2015, the quarterback for his role in Deflategate and the Presidential candidate because -- well, his big mouth.

The four-time Super Bowl champion spoke with WEEI in Boston on Tuesday and said he's friends with Trump, going as far as to add that the Republican candidate has done "amazing things," according to Yahoo Sports.

Much like a politician, Brady has faced great issues in the sports realm with Spygate and Deflategate threatening to harm his legacy. Brady has kept calm in front of the media and has danced around many touchy subjects, including rumors of a divorce between him and his wife, model Gisele Bundchen.

Brady's four-game suspension for Deflategate was overturned in federal court just after, like a good politician, he denied any blame in the case of under inflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game against the Colts in January.

As far as his friendship with Trump, Brady had a hat supporting him in his locker and the billionaire offered kind words to Brady in the wake of his Deflategate suspension being reversed.

Brady would undoubtedly make a good running mate for Trump and here are five other athletes that would also make good politicians:

1) Marshawn Lynch

Someone claiming to be the Seahawks running back already filled out a form to run for president, but he would also make a good running mate. "Lynch" who wrote that his address is located "in the end zone holding deez nuts" when he filed to run for president, would make a good partner for any candidate, as long as he promises to share his Skittles.

2) Curt Schilling

Just like Trump's mouth constantly gets him into controversy, Schilling has had the same experience in the Twitter realm. The former three-time World Series champion also has plenty of experience in politics, campaigning for George W. Bush in 2004 and supporting John McCain leading up to the 2008 election.

Like Trump, Schilling's political views got him into some hot water as he shared a Twitter meme which compared Muslim Jihadism to German Nazis, leading to ESPN suspending him from the Little League World Series and "Sunday Night Baseball." Schilling could also draw parallels to Sarah Palin as he is a native of Alaska.

3) Reggie Love

While he isn't a professional athlete, Love was a basketball and football star at Duke and describes himself as a "fanatic" of hoops on social media. The former basketball star won the NCAA title with the Blue Devils in 2001. He was also a personal aide to President Barack Obama up until 2011 when he left to get his masters in Business Administration. If he's looking to return to the world of politics, he has plenty of experience to bring with him.

4) Bill Bradley

Bradley won two NBA championships with the Knicks and was a gold medal Olympian before going into the league's Hall of Fame. From there, he had a rich life in politics, even making an attempt at running for president in 2000. At age 72, Bradley has years of experience under his belt and being a tax and economy expert would bring a lot to the table.

5) Steve Largent

Sticking with Hall of Fame athletes, Largent is one of the most successful Seahawks players in history and was enshrined into the NFL's highest honor in Canton in 1985. The Republican once held six major receiving records, including most receptions and most touchdown catches. Largent was victorious in four terms in the U.S. House as a Republican, representing the 1st District of Oklahoma. He lost in his attempt to run for governor of Oklahoma, but perhaps he'd still make a good running mate.
