Henrik Stenson continued the merry-go-round atop the leaderboard of the Deutsche Bank Championship, opening a one-stroke lead on Sunday. Rickie Fowler delivered a third consecutive 4-under 67 and sits comfortably in second.
Sean O'Hair, Matt Jones and Russell Knox round out the top five.
Stenson was a habitual afterthought on the PGA Tour this season. The 39-year-old was 10 shots behind the winner in each of the four majors this calendar year.
Now 18 holes from victory, it's better late than never.
"It's a good time to start playing well," said Stenson, per PGATour.com. "It's a big event and lots to play for. I'm happy with the progress I made and it gave me a little bit of a confidence boost last week that I had a nice tournament. I hope I can have another one here tomorrow."
Not joining Stenson in having a nice tournament is Rory McIlroy. The current world No. 1 finished the third round 2-over par and is now at the bottom of the leaderboard. In danger of losing his top ranking to Jordan Spieth, McIlroy is more concerned with his putting than anything else.

"It's not something I really worry about," McIlroy said about the official rankings, per PGATour.com. "I'm just worried about trying to get my game in better shape so I can compete and try to win tournaments."
