Key Washington Storylines

--Chris Petersen coached Boise State from 2006-13 and was the offensive coordinator from 2001-05, but he isn't looking forward to playing his old team, calling the situation "awkward." He'll look to help his team slay another powerful conference foe.

--One of the interesting things to look for is who will start for the Huskies at quarterback as the No. 1 job has been a well-kept secret. Junior Jeff Lindquist, redshirt freshman K.J. Carta-Samuels and true freshman Jake Browning are the three options to try to get Washington off to a strong start.

Key Boise St. Storylines

--The Broncos are trying to prove themselves to be elite in the conference and to rattle off a 14-0 run, and it all starts with Game 1 on the schedule. For Boise St. to be seen as a power house, it will have to topple Washington at home.

--While question marks surround their opponents' at the most important position, Boise St. will look to new signal caller Ryan Finley to get them off on the right foot. The sophomore has been the favorite to land the starting gig since the spring and the team hopes that his leadership qualities will translate into the regular season on the field.
