It is time for fantasy owners taking Cowboys RB Joseph Randle at No. 50 overall to start taking Darren McFadden earlier than No. 106. McFadden has been impressive behind Dallas' vaunted offensive line this preseason, and the Cowboys are going with a full-fledged running back by committee (RBBC) in 2015, per Yahoo.

"We've known he is a good football player," said Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. "He was a really high pick in the draft and everybody really liked him coming out of school, but that was a few years ago now. The biggest issue he had in Oakland seemed to be dealing with different injuries. He had a little injury bug with us at the outset, but he has been practicing with us the past couple of weeks and he has done a good job.

"The biggest thing with him is getting healthy and getting him a chance to play. Whatever he did tonight was not a surprise, he's been a good player for a long time."

Is It Too Late For Dallas To Sign Ray Rice?

McFadden rushed for a team-high 37 yards on only four carries in Dallas' 28-14 loss Saturday night to the Vikings.

McFadden has never made it through a full season, and has never played in more than 13 games. Even if the Cowboys were to name McFadden the head of the backfield, he would still cede carries to Randle based off his extensive injury history. Most owners expected Randle to take the top job, however, and become something like Dallas had with DeMarco Murray last year when he led the NFL in rushing attempts and yards.

Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Preview

Randle is an unproven player who looked good in very limited opportunities behind Murray last season. If he is not a clear starter in 2015, taking him at No. 50 is a big reach regardless of the offensive line talent. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones refused to state a preference in who he'd want to take the bulk of the carries, and even tossed Lance Dunbar's name into the mix.

"I expect [Randle] ... has the talent to make some of the plays we saw him make [Saturday night]. I certainly know that [McFadden] can make them and Dunbar can do the same. If they're healthy, I'll take the skill and what they can bring to our offense. I'll take that and go against the Giants and won't ask for any more."
