The top 120 PGA Tour members have arrived in Edison, New Jersey for the first of four tournaments in the 2015 FedEx Cup playoffs, The Barclays. Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Justin Rose will all be in attendance. Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Francesco Molinari and Retief Goosen have all decided to skip the event.
The FedEx Cup point values increase with every passing week, forcing players to jockey for position in the standings. The ultimate goal is to make the top 30 for the Tour Championship and a shot at the FedEx Cup.
The corresponding $10 million-plus paycheck won't hinder motivation, either.

Predictably, oddsmakers have favored Spieth's return to the golf course. The two-time major champion opened at +550, with Day remaining his closest competitor at +900, per Bovada. Rose and Dustin Johnson, who enter the weekend nearly 2,400 points behind Spieth in the FedEx Cup standings, opened at a respectable +1100.
Prediction
This is the fourth consecutive season that Rose has notched at least seven top 10s. Add to that a win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, two runner-up performances and a significant point gap in the standings, and the recipe is there for the 35-year-old to add intrigue to the Deutsche Bank Championship next Thursday.
