The second day of the 2015 Wyndham Championship came to a close on Friday, with Tiger Woods keeping his FedExCup playoff hopes alive.
The former world No. 1 surged with a 5-under par 65 to grab a share of the lead with Tom Hoge. Davis Love III and Chad Campbell remain just one stroke off the pace. Below is a recap of the second day's events.
Tiger Woods
Entering Thursday at No. 187 in the FedExCup standings, it was win or go home for Woods. (Only the top 125 qualify for the FedExCup playoffs). The 39-year-old responded on Friday, finishing 11-under par for the tournament, and he is now in a prime position to remain relevant for next Thursday's playoff. A victory will see him qualify.
For Woods though, making the cut of the Wyndham Championship is only the first step of a long journey.
"I'm only at the halfway point," Woods said, per PGATour.com. "Only 36 holes. We've still got a long way to go. I've shot 59 and I left a couple shots out there. The great thing about golf, you can always get a little bit better."
