Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios again is in trouble for his mouth writing checks that his talent can't cash.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Kyrgios bad-mouthed the girlfriend of French Open champion Stan Wawrinka during a match at the Rogers Cup in Montreal -- a U.S. Open tuneup -- on Wednesday.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that just three points into the second set - Wawrinka won the first in a tiebreaker - Kyrgios crossed the line in trying to trash talk Wawrinka:

Kyrgios muttered: "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that mate."

USA Today Sports' For the Win reported that Kyrgios was referring to fellow Australian tennis player Thanasi Kokkinakis. In an on-court interview after the match, Kyrgios said, "He was getting a bit lippy with me. Kind of in the heat of the moment. I don't know. I just said it."

According to the Morning Herald, Kyrgios tried to avoid Wawrinka after the match, but the Swiss player confronted him in the locker room.

"It will stay in the locker room," Wawrinka said. "But I think there are things, regardless of who you are, regardless of the stress you have on the court, there things that you just can't say. And regardless of whether or not he sidesteps it, I think the way he behaves on the court, he has big problems."

Multiple reports also indicate Wawrinka's girlfriend is Donna Vekic, a 19-year-old Croatian player. She is currently ranked No. 127 in the world, according to International Business Times.

Wawrinka, 30, announced he and wife Ilham were divorcing in April, and Ilham indicated that Wawrinka used their divorce as an excuse for a losing streak when he had already shown a lack of commitment to their relationship.

International Business Times reported that Wawrinka's relationship with Vekic surfaced shortly after the divorce announcement.

For the Win reported that Kyrgios was fined $10,000 for his comments, the most the ATP can fine under a rule.

Kyrgios later went on Facebook and issued an apology.

"I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the comments I made during the match last night vs Stan...
