As he prepares for his UFC career, CM Punk took some time to throw some dirt on the WWE.

The former WWE World Champion recently talked about his wrestling career and revealed the dirty side to the behind-the-scene politics in Vince McMahon's company.
"For the longest time [in] what I did, the competition wasn't that clean-cut," Punk told Rolling Stone. "It didn't matter if you were the best. There's slimy backstage politics, there's always somebody trying to undercut you. To me, there's something romantic about just you and another guy locked inside a cage and the better man wins. In that time and space, nothing else matters. I definitely think it can be f--king scary, but I like embracing the things that scare me."

Punk has talked about backstage politics in the past and how he didn't get along with Triple H, and at times, McMahon himself.
The Best in the World left the WWE in January 2014 and later signed with UFC that December. His first fight in the Octagon will occur either later this year or in early 2016.
Punk, who trains out of Roufusport in Milwaukee, revealed on his friend Colt Cabana's podcast in November that he left because he was creatively stifled and always asked to work hurt.
The WWE Superstar-turned-UFC fighter also told the publication that he was burnt out and he described what led to his eventual departure.
"I think at some point in my wrestling career, I took myself way too seriously, and I took the wrestling business way too seriously," Punk said. "It probably helped sour me on the whole process. It probably helped burn me out. The entire reason I'm doing this isn't about the fight. It's about learning martial [arts], as well as something about myself. It's literally all about the journey."
Punk has said in other interviews that he no longer watches wrestling and that he would never return to the company.
With life in the squared circle behind him, Punk is now looking ahead to the Octagon.
