The second day of the 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, came to a close on Friday, with Jim Furyk surging to a four-stroke lead.

WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Round 1 Highlights

Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson and Shane Lowry finished tied for second, while Day 1 leader Danny Lee sits five strokes off the pace, tied with Henrik Stenson and Graeme McDowell. Below is a recap of the second day's events.

What They're Saying

Jim Furyk (via PGA Tour): "It's another year and opportunity, and we're only halfway. Just go out, and I'm going to try to do the same things this weekend and not really look at the leaderboard that much and go try to shoot under par every day." (Furyk has shot a 4-under 66 each of the first two rounds.)

Shane Lowry: "Tick another one off the list, final group on a Saturday at WGC. It's kind of nice. I feel like my game is good enough to go out there and repeat this again." (Lowry shot a 4-under 66 on Friday, tied for the lowest round of the day with Furyk, Watson and Charley Hoffman.)

Bubba Watson

Watson leads the field in driving distance this season, averaging 352 yards. On Friday, he showed that infamous raw power, driving a 396-yarder on the 16th hole.

Unfortunately, it ranked only second to Dustin Johnson (406).

"I'll say I'm longer than him [Johnson]," Watson said. "He'll say he's a lot better and straighter. So finally, you get a guy that you can see what he's hitting and why he's hitting it, what he's guessing off the winds, off the par 3s, and you can feed off that."
