Michelle Wie doesn't seem herself these days.

It has nothing to do with her problematic hip or ankle, or her dip in the rankings after soaring to No. 5 in the world last year. Wie posted photos of herself on her Instagram account with blonde hair.

Michelle Wie struggling due to swing champ to alleviate pressure off chronic hip injury

Wie, currently No. 19 in the Rolex rankings, has finished only two of her last six tournaments as she has battled ankle and hip injuries. The bursitis in her hip caused her to change her swing this year to alleviate pressure during her motion. She withdrew from two of the events and missed the cut at the other two.

"It's been a tough year with my health," Wie told USA Today Sports in a phone interview in early July. "As soon as I was getting over my sickness, then I had the hip thing. The hip injury made me realize my body isn't what it used to be. I am readjusting my body to my aging body. I'm just doing everything I can to keep playing."

Ironically, her two best performances in 2015 have come at the events she won in 2014. She finished 11th at the U.S. Open after capturing her first-ever major victory at the 2014. Wie also tied for 11th at the LOTTE Championship, a tournament she also won last year as she finished arguably with her best season in her career.

It's unknown whether the new look is part of Wie trying to change her fortunes in the second half of 2015. But she does look different with the blonde locks. And if that helps her turn around her fortunes, more power to her.
