The first day of the 2015 Quicken Loans National came to a close on Thursday, with Retief Goosen and Ryo Ishikawa tying for the lead.

Ernie Els, Justin Leonard and Kevin Chappell are all one stroke behind, while Steve Wheatcroft, Jeff Overton and two others round out the top 10. Below is a recap of the first day's event.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods left hole No. 4 with a bogey and a paltry score of three-over par. It would be the final bogey of his day. The former world No. 1 ran off five birdies in six holes to finish at a three-under 68.

"That's what scoring is all about," Woods said (via ESPN). "I made a lot of key putts today. I ran them by the hole but I made all the comebacks, and overall I felt like I hit the ball well enough to turn it around. It was nice to actually turn it around."

"We got the fresh greens tomorrow," he added. "Hopefully, go out there and post a low one."
