Tiger Woods is without a swing coach this week in Virginia, but speculation is growing that he may be looking for a new swing coach, period.

The Golf Channel is reporting that swing consultant Chris Como did not accompany Woods to this week's PGA Tour stop in Gainesville, Va., at the Quicken Loans National. That has led to reports from sources that the two no longer are working together.

Tiger Woods says difference between winning a tournament and missing the cut is minimal

"Numerous sources have suggested that Woods has split with Como, who teamed with the former world No. 1 last November, but Woods' manager Mark Steinberg told GolfChannel.com via email that it was the 'first I have heard of it,' " The Golf Channel reported.

"Notah Begay, who introduced Woods to Como, also said that he had not heard of any split between the two and that he had dinner with Como earlier this week in Texas.

Tiger Woods bigger favorite than British Open champ Zach Johnson to win PGA Championship?

"Como did not return a call requesting comment."

Woods currently is ranked No. 266 in the nation. He hired Como last December after recovering from back surgery and was looking for a swing that had less of an impact on his back.

He missed back-to-back cuts and major events - the US Open and the British Open - for the first time in his career. In eight events, his best finish was a tie for 17th, and he has missed a total of three cuts (not including a withdrawal).

Woods started off the first round at the Quicken Loans National with three bogeys in his first four holes. One of his drives bounced off a marshal's leg, USA TODAY Sports' For the Win reported. Woods, however, came back to birdie six of his next nine holes and finished with a 3-under 68.
