The Demon From Death Valley will rise to wrestle at SummerSlam for the first time since 2008 when he takes on Brock Lesnar on Aug. 23 in New York City.

5 Athletes & Superstars We Want To See Compete At SummerSlam

The Undertaker and The Beast will go head-to-head in a WrestleMania XXX rematch live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on that fateful night, which is just a month away.

The Deadman has vengeance on his mind after Lesnar ended The Streak in New Orleans in 2014, causing his record at the Show of Shows to fall to 22-1 before he picked up a win against Bray Wyatt at this year's event.

5 Best SummerSlam New York Moments In History

The Deadman made his SummerSlam debut against Kamala at Wembley Stadium in London back in 1992 and he's had a few clunkers over the years, including his much-maligned Rest In Peace Match against Giant Gonzalez in 1993 and the time he was forced to wrestle himself (an imposter Undertaker) in 1994.

Still, 'Taker has had his fair share of memorable bouts as well at The Greatest Party of the Summer and we've compiled his top five greatest matches.

The Undertaker is 9-5-1 all-time at SummerSlam heading into his battle with Lesnar, who owns an impressive 4-1 mark at the WWE's marquee summer spectacle.

Here are our top five Undertaker matches in SummerSlam history, which can also be seen in slideshow form by clicking the top right of this page.

5) Mankind, SummerSlam 1996

After years of being forced into terrible feuds by WWE creative, The Undertaker finally got a worthy foe in Mankind in 1996 and it led into the first Boiler Room Brawl in history. Mankind and 'Taker whaled away on each other and used various weapons in the actual boiler room before the action spilled into the Gund Arena in Cleveland on Aug. 18, 1996.

The match is mostly memorable because it marked the first time Paul Bearer ever betrayed The Undertaker, clocking him with the urn and awarding it to Mankind to help him win the bout. It also was the first time The Undertaker absorbed a loss at SummerSlam.

4) Randy Orton, SummerSlam 2005

Though 'Taker lost this bout as well, it was a very solid contest at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 21, 2005. After The Deadman topped The Legend Killer at WrestleMania 21, their rivalry continued with Orton hell-bent on getting a win over his veteran counterpart.

The two went back-and-forth at SummerSlam and were able to reverse each other's moves throughout their battle to sell the psychology of being familiar with one another from WrestleMania. In the end, "Cowboy" Bob Orton dressed as a fan and provided a distraction to allow his son to pick up the win over The Undertaker.

3) Bret Hart, SummerSlam 1997

The Hitman's final SummerSlam appearance before the Montreal Screwjob was a noteworthy one as he picked up his fifth and final WWE Championship by thwarting off the Demon From Death Valley. Hart's on-screen and off-screen nemesis Shawn Michaels served as the guest referee as two of wrestling's greatest legends went toe-to-toe in their primes at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J. on Aug. 3, 1997.

In the end, Hart drew the ire of Michaels by spitting in his face, causing HBK to rapidly swing a steel chair at the Hitman, who ducked. The shot hit 'Taker and the Excellence of Execution took advantage, pinning the Deadman to end the match and win his title. It was Hart's final SummerSlam bout until 2010.

2) Edge, SummerSlam 2008

And finally, a quality match that The Undertaker actually won at SummerSlam. The feud between Edge and The Undertaker was one of the highlights of 2008 and the two looked to settle the score inside Hell in a Cell at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indiana on Aug. 17, 2008.

The match saw the use of several weapons, including tables, ladders and chairs, and in the end 'Taker finished off The Rated 'R' Superstar by delivering his signature Tombstone. After it was over, he then returned to the ring and chokeslammed Edge through the mat from the top of a ladder before setting the ring ablaze with Edge beneath it.

1) "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, SummerSlam 1998

Though he once again came up on the losing end of this one, there is no greater SummerSlam bout on The Deadman's resume than when he and the Texas Rattlesnake clashed in their primes at one of the biggest events of the year during one of the greatest wrestling eras in history at the World's Most Famous Arena.

The Highway to Hell converged at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Aug. 30, 1998, and these two legendary Superstars went at it tooth and nail. After the two left it all in the middle of the ring and The Undertaker hit a memorable leg drop through a table on Austin, Stone Cold was able to hit him with one final Stone Cold Stunner to retain the WWE Championship in a hellacious, grueling matchup.

The Undertaker has had many memorable clashes in the squared circle at SummerSlam and that is expected to be repeated again when he battles Brock Lesnar in a match dubbed as The Deadman vs. The Beast on Aug. 23.
